These partnerships span multiple areas such as talent cultivation, scientific research, medical services, and cultural exchange—forming a comprehensive, multi-level, and multidimensional international cooperation system.

Building Diverse International Platforms—Advancing the Global Reach of Traditional Chinese Medicine
ZCMU has been strengthening its international cooperation platforms for Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). It currently operates one National TCM Service Export Base, two Confucius Institutes for Chinese Medicine, four overseas TCM centers, and one Silk Road TCM College. These platforms support the global dissemination of TCM education and culture, while also promoting international collaboration in general medicine, nursing, rehabilitation, and related fields—broadening the university’s global development landscape.

Building the “Study at ZCMU” Brand—Highlighting the Global Influence of “School of Zhe’s TCM”
ZCMU currently hosts over 1,200 degree-seeking international students and has trained more than 15,000 international students to date. In 2023, the university successfully passed the Quality Certification for Higher Education of International Students in China with excellent results—becoming the third TCM university in the country to achieve this recognition. To promote the global presence of “School of Zhe’s TCM” launched the internationalization action plan. This includes publishing a series of English-language features on international media, producing a bilingual animated video introducing the “School of Zhe’s TCM”, and organizing series of exhibition to showcase its unique academic strengths. These efforts continue to boost the ZCMU’s global visibility and enhance the cultural soft power.

Deepening Research Collaboration—Enhancing Global Academic Influence
ZCMU places great emphasis on international research cooperation and the enhancement of its academic influence. Nearly 20 international research platforms have been established, and faculty and students are encouraged to participate in global conferences and co-author high-level academic papers. In recent years, the university has hosted numerous major international academic events, such as the Yangtze River Delta International Neuroscience Conference, the International Forum on Wellness & Care Industry, Education & Research, and the International Young Scholars Interdisciplinary Forum on “TCM+”. These efforts continue to elevate ZCMU’s voice in the global academic community.
